Ballestas islands and Paracas reserve
Half - Day
We will enjoy an unforgettable marine experience. Our journey begins at the "El Chaco" dock, known for its diverse gastronomic offerings, where we will board a boat to explore the region's treasures.
Our first destination will be El Candelabro, a mysterious figure etched into the dunes, rising majestically above the sandy landscape. With more than 2,500 years of history, this enigmatic formation is believed to have served as a guide for ancient sailors and is now recognized as a Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
Next, we will navigate to the Ballestas Islands, where the desert meets the ocean, creating a unique setting. These islands are famous for their stunning rock formations and rich biodiversity. Here, we will encounter sea lions and a variety of birds, including the Humboldt penguin, the red-legged cormorant, and the guanay.
Before returning to Ica, we will venture into the desert of the Paracas National Reserve to visit the beaches of Yumaque and Playa Roja. The reddish sand of these beaches, formed by volcanic clay, offers a fascinating glimpse of the interplay between geology and the landscape.
