Half - Day
This fascinating half-day walking tour of Cusco combines history, culture, and art in an unforgettable experience. We will begin at the iconic Plaza de Armas, a place where colonial architecture remains intact, yet whose history dates back much further in time. Upon close observation, one can see the Inca foundations that support many of the current buildings.
In this iconic space, we will also visit the majestic Cathedral, the most important temple in Cusco, built by the Spanish over the former palace of the Inca Huiracocha. Its interior houses an impressive collection of colonial art, including gold and silverwork and paintings representative of the Cusco School.
Continuing on foot, we will arrive at the Koricancha, which during the Inca Empire was an important temple dedicated to the Sun. Later, the Spanish built the Convent of Santo Domingo over it as part of their evangelization efforts. This site is a clear example of cultural syncretism, where Inca walls blend with the baroque architecture of the convent.
Finally, we will explore the charming and narrow streets of the San Blas neighborhood, known as the artistic heart of Cusco. Here, surrounded by artisan workshops and unique works of art, we will find the perfect place to take home a special memory of this magical city. An enriching experience that combines the best of Cusco's past and present!
